    Happy Monday everyone! We have a lengthy update, so let’s jump right in! Congrats to the following patch winners: Genaro & Andrea, both for 9 SNAPs!

    We have 2 more weeks of league left, tomorrow 04/12 and the following Tuesday 04/19. Then we have playoffs 04/26. We then roll right into summer session on 05/03. If you have any roster changes, please let us know so the schedule can be set up right away without any delay! Also, if anyone is interested in becoming a team captain and either bringing in your own team or want some help from us building you a team, let us know! We will help in either capacity to ensure there are solid teams. Keep in mind there are captain incentives, including a free 10 ball B&R ticket every week as well as a captain & co-captain singles tournament where the winner gets free league play all session!

    Speaking of captain/co-captain tournament: the next one for Summer Session is scheduled for Saturday, May 14 starting at noon. This is a singles 8 ball event, double elimination. Captain and co-captain of each team is eligible to play, free of charge, for a chance to win free league dues for a session. In the event either the captain or co-captain chooses not to play, he/she can designate another individual to take his/her place.

    As you know, we came back from Vegas a couple weeks ago. We want to highlight the teams & individuals who represented H-Town to the best of their abilities. Please congratulate the following:

    While in Vegas, we attended a league manager’s meeting where we were able to get some guidelines in how the leagues are being operated. One thing we want to start doing beginning the summer session is to rank teams based off of Points per Set rather than the total points earned. This eliminates the issues we have with bye weeks not being equal throughout the session. Again, this change will take place starting the summer session and going forward.

    Congrats to last week’s 10 ball break & run winner: Bert! He was able to make 1 ball off the break and walked away with $288! Current pot is at $2,860.00, making each ball worth $286.00. Good luck to the next drawn contestant!

    Hello everyone! This coming week will be the 4th week of the Spring Session, which means bonus points and assigned tables will now begin to take effect. Bonus points are given out to the team as a whole for a max of 100 possible points: 50 for team league dues paid at the end of league night + 50 for submitting matching scoresheets. At 100 bonus points for the next 11 weeks, you don’t want to waste the chance to earn an additional 1,100 freebie points this session!

    We want to welcome our newest league members: Blake C, Dillon C, Des J, Matt L, Aaron R, Adam R, Brandon R, and Jeriamy S. We’re so glad to have you all join us!

    Congrats to the winner of the 8 ball captain/co-captain tournament: Brett! He went all the way in the top bracket to win it all. He gets to play for free this session.

    We are always looking for more team captains and new members to grow this league. We have team captain incentives so there are perks to having your own team. In addition, bring your friends to play as well. The more teams there are, the bigger the contribution for Vegas. And the bigger the pot for the 10 ball B&R!

    10 Ball B&R pot is currently at $2,720.00 with each ball worth $272.00 apiece. Good luck to the next drawn contestant!

    Results are in for the final two spots of the VQT. Congrats to Tuff Break in 8 Ball and Night Moves in 9 Ball!

    The Spring session will begin on Tuesday 01/04/22. If you have any team updates, please let us know as soon as possible so we can create the schedule and the roster for next session before it begins.

    With the new year, we have a couple incentives provided to each team captain. We are always looking for individuals to step up as team captains, and for those who have held this role, we want to thank each and every one of you for all that you do for the teams you captain. We hope this shows our appreciation.

    Every week, each team captain will receive a complimentary raffle ticket towards the 10 ball break & run pot (current pot at $2,130.00, each ball worth $213.00). In addition, we will also be hosting a captain/co-captain tournament during the session where the winner of the tournament will receive free dues for a full session. More details to come in later updates.

    Quick update today. The scores will not be updated for Week 11 until after next Tuesday due to some scoring discrepancies that are currently being worked on. Apologies for the delay. Weeks 11 and 12 scores will be updated together next week.

    Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far. Apologies for the delay; we had some discrepancies that have now been resolved. Week 10 updates are now completed. Quick reminder to please make sure that all your scores are submitted by the end of the night after comparing with your opponent’s.

    We have a confirmed start date for the SW side on Thursday nights at Jack’s. If anyone is interested in a “No Slop League Night”, we will be playing 8 ball and 10 ball starting JULY 22nd. This will be our first time featuring a 10 ball league in the Houston area. Come check it out and join for some fun!

    Welcome to July everyone! Can you believe it’s already a new month?! Just 6 weeks left in the Summer Session! Updates have been completed. Congrats to the following patch winners: Genaro M (8 TR) and KC (9 SNAP). We would also like to welcome the three newest members to USAPL: KC, Alan A, and Will S! Welcome aboard, you guys! We are glad to have you with us. 🙂

    We have been working REALLY hard in the background and are glad to announce yet another new host location! R House Bar & Grill off of FM 529 will be our newest spot! They have all DIAMOND tables (fifteen 7′ and two 9′) and we are excited to get something started there. We are looking forward to an open 9 ball tournament being scheduled on SUNDAY, 07/11/21. Come out and support us and check out this new place, recently opened in June!

    Jack’s for Cocktails on the Southwest side will be looking to start their first league play on THURSDAY 07/22/21. Teams are forming now! If you know anyone interested in playing in that area, please send them our way. We have spots available!

    We are sooooo excited to see this amount of growth! We’re hoping 2023 VQT will see a lot of new faces meeting each other and getting some new blood into the USAPL system.

    We have an upcoming 8 ball tournament on the Southwest side to ring in our newest host location: Jack’s for Cocktails! Date will be Saturday, JULY 31st starting at NOON so mark your calendars! It is open to any and all players interested, so invite friends to join in the fun! More details to come along with open registration site.

    USAPL has a new host location on the Southwest side! We will be working closely with Jack’s for Cocktails on Wilcrest to host a few tournaments in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes open!     Quick overview of what we discussed on Tuesday:
    – We will be sending 2 teams (one 8 & one 9) to 2021 Vegas Nationals;
    – Vegas Qualifying Tournament will take place mid-May to mid-June (dates to come);
    – We will run a scotch doubles tournament for Temple TX Championships;
    – Doubles tournament will take place SATURDAY, MAY 8 starting at 12:30 PM;
    – Winner of the doubles tournament will receive free registration;
    – Cash payout to the top 3 pairs;

    Welcome to the new session in 2021! We are glad to see members return and would like to welcome our two newest players: Joe B and Brett S. Here’s to a good 2021 season and to seeing this league grow.

    With the start of the new Spring session, please keep in mind requirements for qualifications. You can review eligibility requirements HERE.

    To touch on a few topics discussed last night:

    • As COVID is still an ongoing concern, we are sticking with the same requests made in the Fall session. Unless actively drinking or eating, please have your mask on at all times. Wash hands and sanitize regularly, and if you are feeling unwell in the slightest, please stay home! League is a team sport, and we are thankful for the opportunity to continue having the chance to run a league. This means we need everyone to be socially responsible to ensure the safety of yourself and of others around you.
    • Wednesday Ladies Tournament will begin 01/27/21 and take place weekly at 8:00 PM. We hope to increase female participation and possibly bring on Ladies League to H-Town Central. Spread the word and show your support!
    • Due to the short sessions we have had, we have been unable to fund a full team of 8 and 9 to Vegas for 2021 Nationals. We only had 19 weeks of play total between 3 sessions when a full year of 3 sessions generally consists of 45 weeks. As much as we would like to send teams in September, mathematically we are unable to do so. Rest assure, we are looking at other possible options to represent Houston in 2021. As soon as we have viable options, they will be shared with the league. We are open to any suggestions any members may have so feel free to speak with us at any time to discuss ideas. In the meantime, our goal is to send a full team of 8 and full team of 9 to Vegas for 2022 Nationals happening in March.
    • Bonus points and assigned tables will begin WEEK 3. 100 points for matching scoresheets and 100 points for payments received by end of league night.
    Scores have been updated for Week 1. Schedules and match-ups have also been updated.
