Today is Playoff Day for Spring 2020! It will start at 7:30 PM tonight between Break & Juan and Lady & the Champs for 8 ball, and Chalk is Cheap and Cue Tang Clan for 9 ball.

Our number one priority is still everyone’s health. We will be practicing social distancing as much as possible, having a table in between 8 and 9 ball matches. We ask that groups do not gather more than 10 people in one sitting, preferably less if possible. Face masks are highly encouraged! We will also have sanitizer at the ready, as well as disinfectant wipes. We are taking all precautions to ensure the playoffs remain safe for those participating and those who choose to spectate.

We are excited to get something going again. Baby steps! Be assured that we are working with Slicks management and keeping in touch every week to see how we can bring back League play in its entirety in a safe and measured approach.

We want to take this moment to thank everyone at Slicks for giving us this opportunity and for working with us day in and day out. We also want to thank each and every single one of our USAPL members for being so understanding and patient as we navigate through this crazy year of 2020. We will get through this together.

Come out and show your support for these playoff teams tonight! It would be great to see everyone again. 🙂

ATTN: All H-Town Central League Members

To ensure the safety of all our members and their family, all league play has been suspended for a minimum of two weeks starting 03/17/20. Plans for how the session will continue will be discussed once the suspension has been lifted. We will keep everyone posted with any changes via the Facebook Page, Facebook Group, or Group Text (for those who do not utilize Facebook). In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy and abide by the suggestions provided by the CDC. If you are in need of anything, please feel free to contact us and we will do the best we can to be of assistance.

We hope this update finds everyone well and healthy!

It has been a month since our last gathering at Slicks for our pool league matches. Since then, our schedule has halted and been placed on hold. What was originally a two week wait has now turned into a full cancellation of the remaining of the Spring Session, a decision that has been taken out of our hands, though we fully support the continued urge for social distancing to ensure safety and health of everyone.

We were able to get in 8 weeks of regular play for everyone with one bye, so it make things easier as everyone is on the same level playing ground. For the Spring session, the teams who came in first will automatically advance to the Vegas Qualifier Tournament to take one of two spots available. The second spot will still require a playoff between the second and third place teams. The playoff date is still TBD, but we will provide more information as soon as things normalize.

Congrats to TUFF BREAK (8 ball) and NIGHT MOVES (9 ball) for advancing. The playoffs will be between Break & Juan vs. Lady & the Champs (8 ball) and Chalk is Cheap vs. Cue Tang Clang (9 ball).

The schedule will be changed for the remaining sessions of the year. The summer session will most likely be delayed and/or shortened. The one week break between sessions may not be in place. But we will definitely keep everyone updated on changes that will be happening to ensure any and all concerns are being considered.

During this time, feel free to keep in touch with us and your fellow league members using the text forum or our Facebook group page. We are all social individuals and having communication with others is important to all our health. As always, we welcome any and all suggestions. We miss every single one of you and hope to see you all soon! Take care and let us know if you need anything we can provide you with.

Happy Wednesday everyone! All scores have been updated and match logs are available to be viewed. We have started adding the date onto team standings and MVPs so you can be sure you’re viewing the most up to date information on your end and determine if browsers need to be refreshed.

We are now done with Week 9 and hitting Week 10 next Tuesday. This means only 5 more weeks left! All 9 teams have now had at least one bye and next week starts bye 2 for half of the teams. Remember, teams with 2 byes on their schedule will have their 2nd bye week replaced with the average points earned throughout the whole session (this will be done the last week of the session). Make sure to keep an eye out on how many matches each member has played so far! 8 is the number to meet.

A reminder to please fill out the team member information sheet in your team’s packet. If you have already done so, thank you very much for your prompt completion. We do need the information to submit to USAPL and to Fargo to ensure players are not duplicated in the system. Those specific identifiers have been requested. Please also make sure that you go through your packets. Some of them are getting quite full.

Another reminder! Next week 03/17/20, updates will be delayed as we will be out of town. The packets will be available in the black sorter above the dropbox. Once completed at the end of the night, please insert them into the wooden dropbox and we will pick them up when we return Friday. At the earliest, updates will be available late Friday or Saturday. When updates are done, we will send a text out to let everyone know. If there are any questions at any time during league play when we are out, feel free to call or text us! We are still available to answer any and all questions.

Last night, the team captains got their perk with baseball jerseys! We hope you like them and wear them as much as possible! Just a small token of appreciation for all the work team captains do in heading a team of 7 to 8 individuals, half of whom may very well be drunk by the end of the night. 😉 We know captaining a team can be frustrating, which is why so few are willing to volunteer. We recognize the struggle and wish to provide more incentives for those who have the willingness to step up and take that responsibility. If you wish to be a team captain, come talk to us! We are always looking for new teams to form and as this league grows, captains are and will be needed.

We had a good turnout for our last 8 ball promotional tournament at Fast Eddie’s this past Sunday. Our own Anthony Gomez came in 3rd place overall out of 29. Congratulations!! Keep your eyes open for another tournament coming up in the near future.

Enjoy the rest of your week, and everyone stay healthy!

All scores have been entered and the current standings have been updated!

USAPL Office is asking that we get detailed information about our league members in order to ensure no duplicated individuals are entered in the Fargo Rate system. To ensure this, they require specific identifiers. A form has been placed inside each team’s packet. Please complete ALL fields! Once completed, simply put back into the packet and we will forward the information to USAPL directly.

We wanted to give everyone a head’s up in regards to league updates for week 10 (03/17/20). We will be going to Las Vegas to attend a league manager’s meeting, so updates will be delayed that week. Team packets will be available for all teams in the black file holder above the dropbox. Once completed, please drop all envelopes into the wooden dropbox. We will not return until Friday morning and will pick up packets at that time, so expect updates around Friday evening or Saturday at the earliest.

Just a reminder: There will be a promotional 8 ball tournament happening this Sunday 03/08/20 at Fast Eddie’s. Doors open at noon! Online registration is available, or walk-in before sign-ups close at 1 PM.

Happy Wednesday! All scores have been updated and match logs are available to be viewed. 🙂

We have now hit the halfway mark of this Spring session! We hope you are enjoying this and having a good time because we definitely are! As always, please let us know if you have any suggestions. We are open to constructive feedback and will do our best to accommodate.

With the league hitting the halfway mark, we now have singles boards to think of as well. We will be hosting singles qualifier tournaments for those who are interested. It will take place mid to late March to ensure that players who wish to enter have met their minimum 8 matches this session. More information for that to come later.

There have been questions about what the packets are for, now that we have switched over to digital scoring. Packets are still given out to team captains on a weekly basis to let them know what’s going on team-wise and league-wise. We provide weekly team stats, any tournament details (promotional or otherwise), and any weekly patches earned. The packets are also used for weekly dues for those who choose to pay with cash. You can keep the flyers in your packets to remind every team member of upcoming events as well. Please go through the packets on a weekly basis and clear out anything you may no longer need or are definitely not interested in.

Speaking of tournaments, we had a promotional 9 ball tournament this past Saturday at Slick Willies Fountainview. We want to congratulate our very own Mauricio (Mo) M for taking first place and Esias S for taking third place. Congrats to you both!

We have another promotional tournament coming up, this time 8 ball! It will be held at Fast Eddie’s on Sunday 03/08. The event has been added to the calendar so check it out for more additional information. Come out if you’re able to do so! It’s a chance to meet new people, play some pool, and win some extra $$ while you’re at it!

Happy Wednesday! All updates have been completed and match logs are available to be viewed.

Last night, we were able to hand out T-Shirts to those who joined us in the Fall session. It was definitely nice to see the 2019 Founding Members shirts being worn during league night. Again, we want to thank you for having faith in us that very first short session and sticking with us from the beginning to now. We are still learning and growing, so keep your eyes peeled for more to come! Team Captains, your perks are up next! 🙂

Digital pay options are coming along nicely, as well as the digital scoring. Just a friendly reminder that once your scores have been entered and compared with your opponents, please remember to SUBMIT the scoresheets! It would be a shame to have done all the scoring work but not finish through with that one last step.

    Table assignments for Week 6:

    Spooky Action [21 / 22]

Enjoy the rest of your week, and have a great weekend!
  • 02/05/20

Good morning everyone! All updates have been completed and match logs are available to be viewed online.

Next week (Week 5) is the last week to add members to your roster. The Spring roster is the one used for the Original Member qualification. Also, starting next week, the team’s stat sheet will be included in your packet. This allows you to see how many weeks a team member has played thus far. This way, team captains can make a judgement call on who else needs to play to meet their minimum 8 in the session in order to qualify for any playoffs or tournaments.

Everyone should be able to access both their Fargo Rate app as well as the USAPL app. If you are still having trouble, please come see us. A useful function in the Fargo Rate is the Upcoming tab under your home screen. It shows who you will be playing in the near future weeks.

We have had a few questions about the use of headphones during a match. As Nationals do not allow headphone use, we are also abiding by the same rules of not allowing headphones during a match.

A new section has been added on the website under Divisions called “Vegas Qualifier Tournament”. Here, you will be able to review how to win a Vegas trip, how to maintain eligibility, and the currently qualified teams. As the year progresses, the list will be updated with qualified teams as well as singles qualifications. Speaking of singles qualifiers, we will start running singles boards around week 8 of the session (in March). This is to ensure the majority of players have already met their 8 minimum and can qualify for Singles tournament. More details for that to follow.

As a CSI sponsored league, any USAPL member may also play any other CSI sponsored tournaments. We have included one tournament that’s taking place in Temple, Texas in May. You are able to build your own team and travel there to compete for the weekend. All the information has been placed in your packet. If there is a good amount of people going, we can try and get a group rate to travel together.

    Table assignments for Week 5:
    Shot for Shot [18 / 19]
    Spooky Action [14 / 15]
    Tuff Break [21 / 22]
    Lucky 7 [18 / 19]
    Break & Juan [16 / 17]
    Chalk is Cheap [14 / 15]
    Cue Tang Clan [16 / 17]
    Lady & the Champs [21 / 22]

Please let us know if you have any feedback and/or suggestions. We hope everyone is enjoying themselves!
