Updates are completed! Congrats to the following patch winners: Brett S (8 TR) and Steve C (8 WZ)!

The survey is now closed. Thanks to everyone who participated. It ended up being a tie for two options: 1) Send 1 team in 1 discipline – half expenses paid, the team fund the other half. OR 2) Cover registration for a few teams – Teams that go will pay their own way

We appreciate your votes and will take this information and run the numbers to see how to best utilize the funds. More info to come.

There are three more weeks left in the Spring session! Last week of regular play of Spring session is Tues 04/20. Team Captains – please make sure to check that your players have the minimum requirements in order to participate in any league tournaments (3 weeks for TX State championships in Temple, 4 weeks for Nationals in Vegas). As a reminder, teams that come in first place will automatically qualify for the Vegas Qualifying Tournament (VQT) for 2022 Nationals. 2nd & 3rd place teams will play a playoff match on Tues 04/27 to claim the second spot.

Those who are interested in the TX State Championships in Temple, we have an update for you! Those who are interested in participating in the SINGLES 8 ball or TEAM 8 ball categories, you may register through the CSI website directly HERE. You would have to create an account with them in order to register. Please use the same email address to register as you provided to us so they can use the same information to look up your account. We will be hosting a DOUBLES 8 ball tournament in order to pay the registration fee for the winning team to go to Temple in the near future. We feel this category required more facilitating on our part as it is brand new to our division. We will discuss this in more detail next Tuesday before league starts.

         Break & Juan vs Night Moves – 15 / 16

Please remember to cast your vote in the league survey! We only had 22 votes out of 48 members, so less than half have participated! We want to know what you think and how YOU would like to utilize the funds for YOUR benefit. The poll will remain up until 3/31, so there is still time to have your opinions count in the survey! CSI is partnering with BadBoysBilliard Productions to host a Texas State Championships tournament in Temple, TX in May from Monday 05/24 to Sunday 05/30. If you are interested, please let us know which format you’re interested in. More information can be found HERE. Happy Thursday everyone! Updates have been completed. Congrats to the following patch winners: Brett S (8 BR & 9 BR) and Phil T (9 Snap)

As we discussed in the league meeting on Wednesday, a poll has been put up for everyone to vote on how to use the funds to represent Houston in Nationals this year. To summarize:
    • Funds collected from 18 total weeks of play between 3 short sessions (1 session is typically 14 weeks)
    • It costs approximately $1,000 per person to go to Vegas (flight + hotel + registration)
    • Schedule is as follows:
    • This is to determine how to use the funds for the league members. ANYONE and ANY TEAM can still pay their own way to Vegas regardless.
    • If choosing to send individuals – all teams will maintain their Vegas Qualifier Tournament qualifications for 2022 Vegas Nationals in March.
    • If choosing to send 1 team in either discipline, there will be a VQT to determine which team goes from those who already qualify through 2020. Winner goes to Vegas partially funded and qualifications start over for that discipline. The other discipline qualifications remain untouched and will still qualify for 2022.
If there are any questions, please let us know. We will keep the survey up until end of March, so please discuss with your teammates or think it through to see which method you prefer.

Table assignments for Week 10 (HOME vs AWAY):
         Lady & Champs vs Break & Juan – 18 / 19
         Tuff Break vs Night Moves – 15 / 16
Chalk is Cheap vs Shot for Shot – 21 / 22

Happy Wednesday everyone! Scores have been updated and congrats to the following patch winner: Jason K (8 WZ). We would also like to welcome our final two newest members to the league: Geury M and Kelsey J! With these two joining USAPL, our Spring session roster is 100% full!

We have hit the halfway mark of Spring session, so team captains – please keep an eye out on how many matches your teammates have played and how many they will need to qualify for higher level tournaments. This year, members need to have at least 4 matches in the discipline(s) they wish to qualify in.

Next week Tuesday 3/9, we would like to have a league meeting with everyone at 7:15 PM regarding representing Houston in USAPL Nationals in Las Vegas this September. Please come a little bit earlier so we can discuss the matter with all members. We will be putting some questions up to vote and would like everyone’s opinions and comments to be heard.

We are trying out some new methods of sending texts out to all league members to inform of when updates are completed. There have been mention of many members not receiving texts with the previous setup. Please bear with us as we try to see what works best.

Now that more tables have been refelted, we can resume more of a social distancing regimen. While Houston will have mask mandate lifted next Wednesday, we kindly ask that players continue with the same level of care we have been practicing during league by continuing to wear masks. This keeps everyone safer, especially in a larger crowd in an indoor setting.

Table assignments for next week are (Home vs Away):
         Break & Juan vs Tuff Break – 20 / 21
Night Moves vs Chalk is Cheap – 18 / 19
         Shot for Shot vs Lady & Champs – 15 / 16

Updates are done everyone! Congrats to the following patch winners: Darrell W (9 BR & 9 SNAP), Robert B (8 TR), Phil T (8 TR), and Phillip C (8 WZ). We would also like to welcome our two newest league members: Sebastian G and Glenn H! Welcome aboard, you guys; we’re glad to have you!

We have been noticing win types on scoresheets not matching, which is causing some difficulties. Please make sure to not only double check proper scores, but also the WIN TYPE. When win types differ, it causes confusion. As a reminder, here is a refresher to the different win types available:

We hope everyone enjoyed playing on the refelted pool tables! Here are the table assignments for Week 7:

         Night Moves vs Break & Juan – 22 / 23

Hello everyone, let’s enjoy this sunshine! After the past week of freezing temperatures, hope you did not suffer too many damages. If your property suffered significantly from the winter storms, please check https://www.disasterassistance.gov/ to see if your area qualifies for disaster assistance.

League resumes tomorrow, Tuesday 02/23. We have some good news to add as well. Slicks on Montrose has started refelting their pool tables! A third of the tables have already been done and the process will continue. Therefore, we will be utilizing as much of the refelted tables as possible for league. The table assignments have changed for tomorrow to reflect this update:

    • Shot for Shot vs Night Moves – 20 / 21
    • Lady & Champs vs Tuff Break – 22 / 23
    • Break & Juan vs Chalk is Cheap – 18 / 19

    See you all tomorrow evening!

Happy Friday and Happy Lunar New Year to everyone! Been busy with Lunar New Year stuff but updates are finally done! Congrats to the following patch winners: Aide C (9 BR), Isaac S (9 SNAP), Gilberto M (9 SNAP), and Daniel G (8 TR)!

This coming weekend is going to be verrrrrry cold as the arctic freeze comes through Houston. The governor issued a disaster declaration for Sunday through Tuesday due to the wintry weather. If you don’t need to be driving on the roads, please stay home. We don’t want anyone going through what Fort Worth went through on Thursday. Our thoughts go out to those who were involved in that pile-up.

This means our Tuesday league may be in jeopardy of being cancelled for the evening while that declaration remains active. At this time, we plan on going ahead as scheduled since the worst is forecasted to occur Sunday night / Monday. We will continue to monitor the road conditions through Tuesday morning and make a decision at that time. If rescheduling, a text will be sent out to all members to inform you of the update.

Until then, table assignments for the next week:
Shot for Shot vs Night Moves – 21 / 22
         Lady & Champs vs Tuff Break – 16 / 17
         Break & Juan vs Chalk is Cheap – 18 / 19

Happy Valentine’s Day to all this coming Sunday and hope everyone stays warm and safe this weekend!

P.S. If anyone gets stranded anywhere at anytime, give us a call and we’ll come get you! 🙂

    Happy Friday everyone!

Let’s give a warm welcome to our newest member: Isaac S! We’re glad you’re joining us this session.

Another week of late update, this time due to missing scores and waiting for all the info to be submitted prior to updating stats for everyone. This is one of the reasons why checking scores and submitting matches at a timely matter is important, so updates can be done as soon as possible. Bonus points have been applied this week. Remember, 100 bonus points can be earned, 50 points for both teams having matching scoresheet info and 50 points for team league dues submitted by the end of league night Tuesday.

Congrats to the patch winners for this week, all for 9 SNAP! Brett S, Hannibal E, and Nancy P!
